Privacy Policy for OpenClawUninstaller

Last updated: 2026-03-20

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how OpenClawUninstaller collects, uses, and stores information when you use the app.

OpenClawUninstaller is a paid macOS utility used to scan for and remove OpenClaw-related components from a local device.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to operate licensing, payments, and basic product analytics.

2.1 Device and License Information

The app may store and use:

  • a locally generated device identifier
  • license status for the current device
  • activation and restore state

This information is used to identify the current device, restore a paid license on the same Mac, and support device-based activation logic.

2.2 Payment Information

When you use the payment flow, the service may process:

  • device identifier
  • payment order number
  • payment provider name
  • payment status
  • payment amount
  • transaction timestamps

OpenClawUninstaller itself does not need your bank card number or full payment account details to provide activation. Payments are handled through the payment provider and related backend services.

2.3 Product Analytics

To improve the app, we may collect limited product analytics such as:

  • app version
  • distribution channel
  • paywall view events
  • QR code request and load events
  • license restore events
  • unlock success events

Where possible, device-related analytics identifiers are hashed before being sent to analytics systems.

2.4 Local Scan Data

The app scans the local Mac for OpenClaw-related files and components in order to show uninstall results and perform removal.

This scan is performed locally on the device. We do not intend to upload the contents of your local files, directories, workspaces, or credentials as part of normal analytics.

3. How We Use Information

  • provide payment and activation functionality
  • restore licenses on the same device
  • improve app stability and user experience
  • understand payment and activation conversion
  • troubleshoot operational issues

4. What We Do Not Intend To Collect

We do not intend to collect the following as part of normal product analytics:

  • your local file contents
  • your full directory contents
  • your activation code as analytics data
  • raw payment QR payload contents
  • your general personal documents unrelated to OpenClaw

5. Third-Party Services

The app may rely on third-party or hosted services for specific functions, including payment processing, backend license and order services, and product analytics.

At the current stage of the product, these may include services such as Supabase for backend functions and order records, PostHog for product analytics, and Alipay for payment processing.

6. Data Storage

Some data is stored locally on your device, including device identifier, app settings, and local license state.

Operational payment and license records may also be stored on backend services in order to support payment confirmation and license restoration.

7. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the app, restore licenses, maintain payment records, analyze basic product performance, and comply with legal obligations where applicable.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and service involved.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to reduce unnecessary data collection and to limit the information used for analytics and device-based licensing.

However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Choices

You may choose whether to use the app and its payment flow.

Because the app uses device-based licensing, removing local app data or changing device identity information may affect license restoration on the same Mac.

10. Children

OpenClawUninstaller is not intended for children.

11. Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this document.
