PinLG UI Translator Privacy Policy

Effective Date: February 7, 2026

1. Introduction

PinLG UI Translator ("we", "us", or "the extension") is built with a local-first approach. The extension does not use server-side storage for your translations, marks, or glossaries. Your data stays on your device unless you explicitly use optional cloud or third-party features (e.g. translation API). We take your privacy seriously and comply with the Google Chrome Web Store User Data Policy.

2. Data Collection

We minimize data collection. Below is what the extension may use or store.

2.1 Local Storage

Marks, translations, glossaries, and settings are stored locally in your browser (Chrome local storage or similar). This data is not sent to our servers. You can export or delete it at any time from within the extension.

2.2 Payment (ExtensionPay)

If you choose a paid plan, we use ExtensionPay (or a similar provider) for payment processing. The extension does not collect or store your credit card or bank details. Payment data is handled by the payment provider according to their privacy policy.

2.3 Translation API (e.g. Google)

When you use the translation feature, the extension may send the text you select to a translation service (e.g. Google Translate API) to return a translation. Such requests are made according to that service's terms and privacy policy. We do not retain or log the content of these requests on our own servers.

2.4 Browser History / Tabs

We do not collect your browsing history. Any use of tab or page context is done locally (e.g. to apply marks or settings only on sites you choose). No history or URL data is uploaded to our servers.

3. Data Security

We rely on your browser's built-in storage and, where applicable, the security of third-party APIs (e.g. Google, payment providers). We do not operate servers that store your personal translation data.

4. Third-Party Services

The extension may integrate with third-party services (translation APIs, payment providers, Chrome Web Store). Their collection and use of data are governed by their respective privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies when you use related features.

5. Your Rights (Export & Delete)

You can export your data (e.g. glossaries, marks) from within the extension. You can also clear or delete local data via the extension settings or by uninstalling the extension. We do not retain copies of your local data on our servers.

6. Children's Privacy

Our extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

7. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will be revised when changes are made. Continued use of the extension after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
