Privacy Policy for VPN Per-Tab Speed & IP Flag

1. Introduction

Realtime VPN Per-Tab Speed & IP Flag ("we", "us", or "the extension") is committed to your privacy. We do not collect, store, or resell your personal data. This policy explains what data the extension may access or send to third-party services (e.g. for IP lookup or speed tests) and how we handle it. The extension complies with the Google Chrome Web Store User Data Policy.

2. Data We Use

The extension needs limited data to provide per-tab VPN speed and IP/flag display.

2.1 IP Address

Your current (VPN) IP may be sent to third-party IP lookup services (see Section 4) to display your country and flag. We do not store or log this on our servers.

2.2 URL / Tab Context

Tab URLs are used only locally to associate speed and IP data with the correct tab. They are not collected or sent to our servers. When you run a speed or streaming check, the extension may send the current tab's URL to the relevant third-party API (e.g. PageSpeed) only for that request.

2.3 Performance Metrics

Speed and latency measurements are necessary for the "per-tab speed" and "deep speed test" features. These may be computed locally or via third-party APIs. We do not retain or sell this data.

3. How We Use Data

Data is used solely to power the extension's features: per-tab VPN monitoring, IP/flag display, privacy checks (e.g. WebRTC/DNS), and streaming unlock detection. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or resale.

4. Third-Party Services

The extension may call the following (or similar) services. Each has its own privacy policy.

4.1 IP Lookup

ipify.org and/or ip-api.com may be used to get your current IP and approximate location for the IP & flag display. We do not control their logging; refer to their privacy policies.

4.2 Speed / Performance

Google PageSpeed Insights (or similar) may be used for on-demand speed or performance checks. Only the data required for the request (e.g. URL) is sent. We do not store results on our servers.

5. Affiliate Disclosure

This extension may include affiliate links to VPN or related services. If you click these links and sign up or purchase, we may receive a commission. Cookie or similar tracking may be used by the linked site to attribute the referral. We do not track you across other websites beyond what the linked site does. Use of affiliate links is at your discretion and helps support development of the extension.

6. Data Retention

We do not operate servers that store your personal data. Any data kept locally in the extension (e.g. settings) is stored in your browser only. When you uninstall the extension, that local data is removed. We have no separate copy to retain or delete.

7. Permissions

Tabs: Required to show VPN speed and IP per tab and to run checks on the active tab. We do not read or store your browsing history.

Storage: Used to save your preferences (e.g. which checks to run) locally. Data stays on your device.

8. Policy Updates

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. Continued use of the extension after updates means you accept the revised policy.
