NoPause Playback Privacy Policy

1. Overview

NoPause Playback 4.3 ("NoPause", "we", "us", or "the extension") is a general-purpose Chrome extension that provides anti-pause protection, per-site autoplay, page display options, and an optional Premium browser-history auto-clear feature. This policy explains what data NoPause processes, where it is stored, and the choices available to you.

NoPause is designed to process data locally whenever possible. We do not operate a server that receives your browsing history, managed website list, page content, or extension settings.

2. Data Processed and Stored

2.1 Managed Websites and Settings

• Managed website list: Website URLs or domains that you manually add to NoPause.
• Per-site settings: Your autoplay and page display preferences for managed websites.
• Usage counters: Per-site session counts used to apply the Free plan limit.
• Extension preferences: Language, interface state, feature settings, and related migration data.
• Subscription status: Cached Free or Premium status used to unlock the appropriate features.

NoPause 4.3 stores this data in Chrome's local extension storage on your device. It may read website-list and counter data previously saved by an older version through Chrome Sync once in order to migrate that data to local storage. We do not receive a copy of this locally stored data.

2.2 Page and Media Processing

To provide anti-pause, autoplay, and page display features, NoPause processes the current page URL, page structure, media elements, playback state, and compatible pagination links locally in your browser. This processing is used to identify the main media player and apply the settings you selected for a managed website.

NoPause does not send page content, form entries, passwords, or media content to our servers.

2.3 Optional Auto Clear Browsing History

Auto Clear Browsing History is a Premium feature that is off by default. NoPause requests Chrome's optional history permission only after you turn on the feature, review the in-extension warning, and choose to continue through Chrome's permission prompt.

When enabled, NoPause locally searches your existing Chrome browsing history and permanently deletes exact HTTP or HTTPS URLs whose domains match websites in your managed list, including matching subdomains. It then listens for future Chrome history visits and deletes matching URL entries after they are recorded. URLs for websites outside your managed list are not selected for deletion.

This feature removes matching entries from Chrome history; it is not Incognito mode and does not prevent a visit from being recorded briefly before deletion. Deleting an exact URL removes every occurrence of that URL from Chrome history, and deleted history cannot be restored by NoPause.

History matching and deletion occur locally. NoPause does not upload your browsing history or full history URLs to us. Turning the feature off removes the optional history permission and stops future automatic deletion, but it cannot restore entries that were already deleted.

2.4 Payment and Subscription Processing

NoPause uses ExtensionPay to manage Premium purchases and subscription status. The extension receives and caches the account or subscription information needed to determine whether Premium features should be unlocked. NoPause does not collect or process your credit card or bank details; payment information is handled by ExtensionPay under its own terms and privacy policy.

3. Permissions

• Storage: Saves your managed website list, settings, usage counters, and cached subscription status.
• Active tab and tabs: Identifies the current tab and website so NoPause can display and apply the correct per-site controls.
• Scripting and access to websites: Allows NoPause to run its media and page-display logic on websites you choose to manage. Broad host access is required because you may add any website; feature activation remains tied to your managed website list.
• History (optional): Used only when a Premium user explicitly enables Auto Clear Browsing History. It allows NoPause to find and delete matching existing and future Chrome history entries for managed domains and subdomains.

4. How We Use and Share Data

Data processed by NoPause is used only to provide and maintain the extension's playback, autoplay, page display, managed-site, history auto-clear, usage-limit, and Premium-access features.

We do not sell your personal data, use it for advertising, or build browsing profiles. We do not share your managed website list, browsing history, page content, or extension settings with third parties. ExtensionPay separately processes the information required for payment and subscription services.

5. Retention and Your Controls

Your NoPause settings and counters remain in Chrome's extension storage until you change or remove them, clear the extension's data, or uninstall the extension. You can remove managed websites and disable individual features from the NoPause popup.

Disabling Auto Clear Browsing History stops future matching and removes NoPause's optional history permission. History entries already deleted through the feature are permanent and cannot be recovered by NoPause.

6. Data Security

NoPause relies on Chrome's extension isolation, permission controls, and local storage environment. Access to browsing history is separately controlled by Chrome and is available to NoPause only while the optional history permission remains granted.

7. Policy Updates

We may update this policy when NoPause's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised, and the updated policy will be published here and, where appropriate, referenced from the Chrome Web Store listing.
